Medha Anand, AIR-13, UPSC CSE-2023

Medha Anand, a resident of Meerut, demonstrated perseverance and dedication by securing All India Rank 13 in the UPSC CSE 2023. Initially selected in 2019 with a rank of 311, Medha's relentless pursuit for excellence fueled her ambition to become an IAS officer. Presently serving as an assistant operator in management in the Prayagraj Division of North Central Railway, she graduated from HBTU Kanpur in 2017 with a degree in Civil Engineering. Driven by her passion for public service, Medha embarked on her UPSC journey in 2018.

In her second attempt in 2019, she secured an impressive AIR 311. Unsatisfied with her initial ranking, Medha aspired for higher achievement and opted for Sociology as her Optional subject, leveraging her interest in the field to enhance her performance. Recognizing sociology's relevance and scoring potential, she strategically utilized this knowledge to her advantage.
